Indian Institute of Teacher Education (IITE) and Children’s University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) on August 16, 2022 in Gujarat, for a number of initiatives aimed at making India the Skill Capital of the World.

The partnership with Children’s University will concentrate on a variety of initiatives, including offering different skills related to toy manufacturing, child psychology, the social impact of toys on trainees & trainers, and creating customised content as per target audiences to improve their employability in India and overseas. In contrast, the partnership with IITE will concentrate on enhancing the skills of the current trainers, investigating employment opportunities in the domestic and foreign markets, and developing the ecosystem’s capacity for skilling and education.

Ved Mani Tiwari, Chief Operating Officer and Officiating CEO of NSDC, Dr. Himanshu Patel, Registrar of IITE, and Dr. Ashok N Prajapati, Registrar of Children’s University in Gujarat, have signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

IITE and Children's University Shri Ved Mani Tiwari, COO and Acting CEO, NSDC, stated on the collaboration, saying it is “a step ahead” in becoming India the world’s “Skill Capital.” These partnerships will not only help local manufacturers keep up with the toy industry’s demand, but they will also help teachers who already have employment options in the domestic and global markets. To address the global scarcity of skilled workers, we intend to continue our mission of skill development.

“We are excited to partner with NSDC to deliver education and training to aspiring teachers that aim to generate new integral development of teachers, the agreement will allow us to offer the teachers high-quality training, which is the primary task that will enable them to find employment both locally and internationally. The Indian toy industry represents only 0.5% of the total industry size, indicating significant room for expansion. The market for games and toys in India is enormous. Working together with NSDC will give you access to modern tech-based machines and updated manufacturing skills, which will enable you to increase the production of toys to fulfil national and international market”, stated Dr. Harshad Patel, VC of IITE.

The collaboration between the two universities is intended to conceptualise programmes in line with market and industry demands, provide joint certification to successful trainees, and work with other industry leaders and educational institutions to create and comprehend programs that cater to trainee needs.
