Horizon Institute of Design, Indore (HID) is a Centre for excellence in the field of Media and Entertainment. With a rich experience of over two decades, HID has been rated amongst most reliable source for top quality education in central India. Centre offers skills based, job oriented programs in Graphics, Animation and Digital Media. Programs offered include Vocational Degree-Diploma/ B.Voc from TISS-SVE.

Horizon Institute of Design IndoreHID is Hub Partner of TISS-SVE for Media and Entertainment sector and is strongly connected with the industry for student welfare and skill improvisation. HID organizes regular student activities including Seminars, Workshops, Master Classes, Industry Visits, Competitions, Exhibitions, Campus Interactions for learners to improve their skills and get provide better industry exposure. Students joins HID for TISS SVE’s B.Voc in Graphics & Multimedia. To provide them a platform for overall development HID organizes annual contest Ad Mad Show, wherein student showcase their creative skills in 10+ categories. Entries of students who perform well in the contest are sent to Creative Minds, another national level contest.

HID is lead-patron and co-founder for Indore Chapter of ASIFA India, a professional body, recognized by UNESCO, devoted to developing film animation both as an art and also as an effective means of communication. Asifa does community building and organizes events like International Animation Day (IAD) and CG Meet Up’s regularly since 2008. 2018 IAD was held in November with Experts from Prana, Dneg and NYVfxwaala who presented Case studies & Making of top Hollywood & Bollywood films like Fast & Furious, Venom, Pacific Rim, Padmavat, Dangal etc.

HID undertakes Skill improvisation via social activities for leading Management Associations and State Police. With Indore Management Association, a local talent hunt  through Animation Maestro was introduced and already over 100 students have contributed to AV contents during past few years. Initiatives for public awareness for Traffic Police, Centre For Advanced Technology, Indore Marathoners, Road Safety Foundation etc. by use of Animation, Motion Graphics contents is helping students to improve their skills.

HID Media and Entertainment B.VocWork Integrated Programs of B.Voc enables students to get live Industry exposure and majority Year-2 & Year-3 B.Voc students are working in the Industry part time or freelance to utilize their skills.  Going forward, graphics technologies will play a big role in content produced using animation and CG effects. This alone will be a game changing paradigm for future productions. While the growing demand for local contents continues to be a key driver for growth of the animation and digital media industry, the demand supply issue for trained talent still exists. New business models have evolved in the marketplace, to successfully tackle current challenges which has led to increased market penetration, and heightened awareness about the animation and digital media industry.

The Media and Entertainment industry is in the midst of a major technological transformation and content creation and delivery will change dramatically over the next five years. This gives rise to new avenues for digital content entertainment. The drivers for this industry in India are the TV and film segments, with digital advertising gaining importance. The work on visual effects for international films and games is the fastest growing segment of the pie.  

Last year Indian M&E sector reached Rs.1.5 Trillion with a  robust growth of 13IT is expected to cross INR 2.0 Trillon by 2020 (Reference-FICCI-E&Y Report 2018), at a CAGR of 11.6%. Hence this sector is amongst sunrise sector of India and expected to blaze a trail, outpacing most other segments. We foresee surge in aspirants seeking skill based education for the sector with growth in demand.
