GKN Aerospace Bangalore team boosts job prospects of rural students 

GKN Aerospace’s (GAI) team in Bangalore, India, has launched a training and development project for aspiring aerospace engineers from rural backgrounds.

The initiative is being run in conjunction with the local BridgeNow Academy (BNA) and the Aerospace & Aviation Sector Skill Council (AASSC). The ‘Design Engineer Aerospace Propulsion Systems’ course provides essential industry skills and is specifically targeted at students from rural backgrounds as part of GKN Aerospace’s community work in India.  

Eleven candidates were selected to join the programme this month, with BridgeNow Academy delivering the training online and the overall monitoring and end-of-programme assessment being carried out by AASSC. The training module was developed with the support of the managers at GAI and the employees conducted interviews to select the eleven candidates.

I would like to thank Cedric, the managers and all the employees of GAI who have constantly worked with the HR Team to help design the training curriculum and select the eleven candidates for the programme. The training programme lasts four months, during which time the candidates will be equipped and prepared to face interviews and gain employment with different aerospace companies.
