DFID conducts workshop on ways for skilling People with Different Abilities

Persons with Disabilities can become truly self-reliant when they are imparted the right skills and given access to suitable work opportunities. This was the focus on the workshop conducted on 31st January 2018 at Delhi. The workshop was organized by Department for International Development (DFID) and Skills Council for Persons with Disabilities  (ScPwD) at Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The main focus of the workshop was  to explore avenues for increasing skilling and employment opportunities for PwDs for “Paving Ways for Skilling” them.

DFID ScPwD workshop on skillsThis platform had officials participating from Central Government, British High Commission, academia, industry, NGOs and others leading insightful discussions on paving the road ahead for the PwDs in India.

The Workshop discussed challenges faced by PwDs. Indian and UK corporates and training providers showcased the many approaches and models that have been used for skilling people with different abilities.
