CISF signs an MoU with NSDC for skilling retired CISF personnel

As a major initiative towards scaling up skill development of their retired and retiring personnel, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has signed an MoU with NSDC on 5th June 2017, at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. The MoU focuses on skill development of retiring and retired personnel of CISF, their families, students and low medical category personnel. The MoU was signed in the presence of Hon’ble Minister of State (I/C) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Hon’ble Minister of State for Home, Shri Kiren Rijiju along with Senior Officers of NSDF, NSDC, Other CAPFs, CISF personnel and their families.

Highlights of the CISF – NSDC MoU

  • Skill development centers will be set up in the following sectors: Food preservation, Handicrafts and apparels, Industry related skills like mobile repairing, Jewellery making and Beauty and wellness.
  • Around 500 personnel will be imparted training in first phase of the training programme. Thereafter, key trained personnel will be detailed to impart such training to others from time to time.

CISF NSDC MoUThe proposed centers have been selected keeping in view the regional conduciveness of the skills, ease of imparting training in the particular area and availability of particular infrastructure with the CISF and most importantly the demand for such skills and subsequently the products.

Around 500 personnel will be imparted training in first phase of the training programme. Thereafter, key trained personnel will be detailed to impart such training to others from time to time. In this line, CISF will contribute to achieve the goal of ‘Skilled India’.

Shri O P Singh, DG CISF in his welcome address stressed that this project will help families of CISF personnel and retiring/retired/low medical category personnel in acquiring skills for economic benefits as well as facilitates their resettlement/re-habilitation. Simultaneously CISF would be contributing majorly in enhancing the skilling initiative and potential which is the raison-d’etre of the national skill mission.

Addressing the gathering, Hon’ble Minister of State (I/C) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship appreciated the initiative taken by CISF. He further said that skilling India is the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The Ministry is coordinating for the skill development across the country and for ending mismatch between demand and supply of skilled manpower, building the vocational and technical training framework, skill up-gradation, building of new skills, and innovative thinking not only for existing jobs, but also for the new avenues.The Ministry aims to impart Skill training on a large Scale with Speed and high Standards in order to achieve its vision of a ‘Skilled India’. He said that the MoU signed by his Ministry and CISF will go a long way in providing platform to the CISF personnel to develop and build expertise in the areas covered in the MoU.

While addressing, Hon’ble Minister of State for Home Shri Kiren Rijiju said that every possible help and support will be given to CISF in accomplishing the mission of ‘Skilled India’. He also said that the force has always played a positive and encouraging role in promoting national vision and solidarity.

At last, a vote of thanks was given by Shri Dharmendra Kumar, ADG (APS), CISF.
