A webinar on Skill Development in India: Trends, trajectories and way forward

by Sahitya Karra
December 6, 2021
in Events

Skill development and vocational education are poised for significant transformation that can bring diversity, flexibility, and innovation to the evolving ecosystem. The proposed mainstreaming of skills in NEP 2020 has rekindled the hope to make education work-oriented and explore models that are sustainable, scalable, and outcome-based.

Against this backdrop, Tata STRIVE and National Skills Network (NSN) are jointly organising a webinar on “Skill Development in India: Trends, trajectories and way forward” on 8th December 2021, 3.00 to 4.30 PM. The webinar will be live on YouTube.

Skill Development in India: Trends, trajectories and way forward

Through this webinar, we look forward to finding the answers to some of the crucial questions:

  • How do we reduce dependence on government-funded programs that must be complemented with collaborative ventures to address the emerging needs of the industry with an appropriate workforce?
  • What has been the impact of short-term skilling courses and how do we align them close to what the youth aspire for?
  • Why vocationalisation of education (at secondary and higher levels) should be driven by the actual stakeholders at the ground level from various districts in a decentralized manner?
