in Government, News

On November 10th and 11th, 2022, in Jaipur, the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) and Bhartiya Skill Development University (BSDU), Jaipur, will host a two-day consultation gathering of significant stakeholders from the vocational area. The CEMCA initiative to develop a MOOC for vocational educators to assist their teaching and training methods led to the convening of this consultative meeting.

On September 6th, CEMCA held a one-day brainstorming session with stakeholders from three different verticals, namely schools, ITIs and polytechnics, and HEIs, as part of this initiative. A two-day consultation meeting of the key stakeholders will be held at the BSDU in Jaipur as a follow-up to the brainstorming session’s conclusions, with the aim of reviewing and validating the curriculum designed by CEMCA’s experts.

Model Curriculum

This two-day discussion will include high-level representatives from skill universities, universities and HEIs that provide skill courses, experts from vocational training institutions, policymakers who work in the vocational domain, and representatives from industry and the supporting ecosystem.

Prof. Shadrach, Director of CEMCA, emphasises that there is a need for tens of thousands of vocational trainers to enrol in such courses, particularly to increase their competence in training methodologies and technology-enabled teaching and learning practices.
